WURLITZER STYLE 146 BAND ORGAN RESTORATION PROJECT (Part 8)

The restoration project began in October of 2000. This series will mostly be a presentation of the photos that were taken during the restoration process. We wonąt go into great detail in descriptions since the basic restoration process is similar to that described in the 105 restoration series.

PHOTO A - The bass drum beater unit removed from the side wing. It has undergone many rebuilds and repairs.

PHOTO B - The inside of the beater pneumatic.

PHOTO C - The restoration of the unit included recovering of the pneumatics and a new back for the pressure pneumatic. New stiffeners were made for the pressure pneumatic leather. The wood was cleaned up and new leather facings for the internal valve were made.

PHOTO D - The beater unit is mounted on the side wing along with the finished bass drum.
