BAND ORGAN VINYL RECORDINGS COLLECTORS CORNER - Part 3

This series of monthly articles will feature information for collectors of recordings of Band Organs which were produced on vinyl 33 1/3 records years ago. Hopefully this information will be of value to those collectors by providing information about the record albums so they can search for them in old record stores etc.

This months record is "THE MIGHTY RUTH in Concert". The album jacket features a beautiful closeup of the front of the facade of a model 38A Ruth & Sohn fairground organ. The organ was built in 1908 at Waldkrich, Germany.

The organ is owned by David and Carol Kopf. The front features 7 figures, more than 500 pipes, glockenspiel, drums and a cymbal. The organ is 16 feet long, 8 1/2 feet tall and 5 feet deep. It weighs 4000 pounds and operates from folding cardbook book music. The record is produced by the David Kopf Old Time Music Co. The album number is OTMC 12-1.
