BAND ORGAN VINYL RECORDINGS COLLECTORS CORNER

This series of monthly articles will feature information for collectors of recordings of Band Organs which were produced on vinyl 33 1/3 records years ago. Hopefully this information will be of value to those collectors by providing information about the record albums so they can search for them in old record stores etc.

This months record is "THE GREAT GAVIOLI". The record was produced by CAPITOL RECORDS around 1956. The album number is T10231. The subtitle of the album is "Hollands Most Famous Barrel Organ" . The record is part of the "Capitol of the World" series. It was recorded in Amsterdam and manufactured in the USA.

The back of the record jacket describes the organ as an 89 key Dutch Street Organ playing from cardboard book music. It was built in 1890 and restored by G. Perlee of Holland before the recording was produced.
