BAND ORGAN VINYL RECORDINGS COLLECTORS CORNER

This series of monthly articles will feature information for collectors of recordings of Band Organs which were produced on vinyl 33 1/3 records years ago. Hopefully this information will be of value to those collectors by providing information about the record albums so they can search for them in old record stores etc.

The record album for this month is "BARREL ORGAN IN HIFI, Street Organ The Arab"

The record was produced on the EPIC label, record number LN 3310. It was manufactured by CBS on the EPIC label. No date is shown.

Info on the back of the jacket gives information about performances by the organ on the streets of Amsterdam. The organ was built in Antwerp in 1926 by Pierre Verbeeck. In 1948 it was restored by G. Perlee of Amsterdam.

The organ has 75 keys, 8 of which are for the basses and trombones, 10 for accompaiment, 22 for the melody and 17 for the counter melody. The remaining keys are for the percussion instruments including bass drum, snare drum, cymbal, the conductor and registers.
