BAND ORGAN VINYL RECORDINGS COLLECTORS CORNER - Part 6

This series of monthly articles will feature information for collectors of recordings of Band Organs which were produced on vinyl 33 1/3 records years ago. Hopefully this information will be of value to those collectors by providing information about the record albums so they can search for them in old record stores etc.

This months record is "COME TO THE FAIR". "The subtitle of the album is, "The Gaudin Fair Organ, volume two". The album number is JOYS 216. It was produced on the JOY RECORDS label. The text on the back of the record jacket was written by Frank Lee and is dated 1971. Frank Lee also produced the record and it was distributed by "President Records Limited, London". The organ was built by the Gaudin Brothers in Paris around the turn of the century and was part of a traveling fair. The organ and the roundabout, together with parts of the fair, have appeared in two films: "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" and "Half A Sixpence"
